Rebecca reduced her urgent trips to the bathroom, got into remission, and was cleared by her GI to have children again
Before I started working with my nutritionist I was in pretty poor health. I’d had a bad flare the previous spring that landed me in the hospital but it took almost three months for me to finally come off steroids.
I’d lost 20 lbs in a two week period and I didn’t feel like I could eat anything without a trip to the bathroom. I felt like my life needed an overhaul, I had poor nutrition, I slept like crap, and my stress levels were sky high, all probably reasons that I visited the bathroom 10xs a day.
I was worried if I didn’t improve my diet and stress levels that I would continue to flare and never feel good, never be able to keep up with my son or ever have more children, never be able to leave my house with confidence about not having a bathroom nearby.
Since working with my nutritionist, my symptoms have been alleviated.
No more diarrhea, improved consistency, no abdominal pain, I’ve put on weight and reached my target weight.
I eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables and I’m not afraid to eat for fear of running to the bathroom a short while later.
"I went from having 5-10 loose bowel movements a day several times with urgency to having two or three a day with no urgency. I had blood in all my stools and now I have had no bleeding for several months, the longest I have gone with no blood in almost two years."
My overall quality of life has greatly improved. I sleep better and I can keep up with my two year old son on a daily basis.

I had mild moderate UC and am now in remission, my GI has cleared me to have more children which is something I was beginning to doubt would ever happen.
I slept 12 hours a night 5 times a week and woke up feeling like death but now I sleep 8 hours and am ready for the day.
My nutritionist was very easy to talk to, I never felt any judgement from her and that was my number one fear - that I would be judged as a failure or made to feel guilty for choices I made and she never made me feel like I did anything wrong.
She listened to my problems and always helped me find solutions. If something just wasn’t working she helped me see why, and find an alternative.
Working with my nutritionist not only helped my overall nutrition and alleviate my symptoms but I felt like I had someone to talk to whenever I needed help. She has personal experiences she could share with me or just be there to listen.
