Elizabeth was finally able to gain weight, increase her energy levels and enjoy food without triggering a flare

Before working with Brittany I was exhausted. I was waking up at least once if not twice in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and just having trouble falling asleep altogether. I went to the bathroom at least 5 times a day and sometimes nothing even happened, just cramping like my bowels didn’t know what to do.

My relationship with food wasn’t great either and I was struggling to gain any weight. I was trying to be healthy and find the right foods that wouldn’t trigger flares and give me nutrients and still give me enough calories. I was trying to do everything with no real guidance and the confusion of the internet which stressed me out even more. I really wanted to expand my diet and learn about what foods I should and shouldn’t be eating. I wanted to find a diet that worked for me and that I could keep up with in the long run. I also wanted energy back and to not get up in the middle of the night.

I had one appointment with a dietician through my GI doctor and they were really no help. The fact that Brittany has experienced something similar and knows what it’s like to have these symptoms and has first handedly worked through solutions is what really made me want to work with her.

Since working with Brittany, I was able to gain weight finally. I needed to eat a LOT more than I thought I did, having a high metabolism and being in a flare/having inflammation in general. My energy levels increasing and I’m now falling asleep faster and staying asleep longer. Most importantly I don’t stress nearly as much about food as I used to. I know mostly what works for my body and what doesn’t and how I should prep my food to make life easier.

Brittany taught me how to include more fiber (which the other dietician and internet told me to completely avoid) and was with me every step of the way which I miss very much but am grateful I got to experience. I think I was most impressed with the consistency of meeting weekly and how closely I was able to work with Brittany. She gave me access to so many resources and was just a message or email away if I had questions.
